About Jamie

"I’m Jamie, an occupational therapist with over 9 years of experience. Prior to graduating, I spent several years as a disability support worker, which has given me a strong understanding of both sides of the fence. I have worked across a variety of settings, including public hospital inpatient care, public health rehabilitation, paediatric rehabilitation, aged care, and community services. I’ve supported a wide range of clients, including those with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations, mental health challenges, cerebral palsy, and other complex physical and neurological conditions.

My experience as an open-minded, 'think outside the box' occupational therapist naturally led me into case management. I’ve been an approved case manager since 2021, which allows me to work closely with clients and their families to implement the best possible care and support during challenging times. Currently, my case management clients include individuals with traumatic brain injuries (TBI), spinal cord injuries (SCI), amputations, and mental health concerns.

My clients range from those who are living quite independently in the community with a few extra supports, to those with significant levels of disability needing substantial supports to function day to day. I am experienced in working with both children and adults, and I take a flexible, personable, and accommodating approach. I work in clients' homes, communities, and when possible, in more relaxed settings like cafes, parks, or the beach. I collaborate closely with clients, their supports, and their families to set meaningful goals for recovery. Together, we aim to maximise the client’s achievements in life and help them get back on track through both the highs and the lows."
